After almost every oven cleaning service we complete we are asked “How do I keep it clean” and “How often should I get it cleaned”. We have compiled 5 tips to help keep your oven clean between your cleaning services.
1. Give it a wipe – Its a good idea to give your oven a wipe down after every few cooks. This can be completed with a microfibre cloth or paper towel and an eco-friendly cleaning solution like this one. Its a good idea to focus on the bottom of the oven, the roof and back of the oven along with the side racks and cooking racks.
2. Use a drip tray – You can put a drip tray on the bottom shelf of the oven to catch any spillages. Do not put a tray or line the bottom of the oven with foil. Many modern ovens have heating elements underneath the floor of the oven. its not recommended to place anything on the floor of the oven as it can cause damage which usually cannot be repaired.
3. Use roasting bags – Use roasting bags for meat, fish or even veg, to ensure there are no spills or splatters during cooking. Roasting bags can be purchased from all supermarkets.
Depending on how often you use your oven it is a good idea to have it professionally cleaned every 6-12 months.
